South Coast Antiques was established by two second generation antique dealers, Tristram and Kit Douglas. Together we worked in our family antiques business in Portobello Road for many years alongside our late father, Gavin Douglas, a specialist with over thirty years experience in English and French clock antiquities.

Travelling extensively both at home and abroad, we visit many fairs and innumerable auctions, antique shops and private homes in our search for high quality goods.

We have a passion for 19th century Grand tour pieces, early 19th century antique English clocks and French clocks in bronze , gilt bronze and marble. We try to stock a variety of styles, particularly the English Neo -Classical, George III and Regency, whilst the French antiques of Directoire clocks, Empire clocks and Charles X clocks are both figural and architectural.   Of particular interest are French and English gout d'egpyt, or Egyptian style pieces, in ormolu, patinated bronze, marble, and blue john.
